For nearly 20 years I’ve led walks and tours around Kent. Many of the routes and paths I’ve followed are centuries old. This often led me to wonder about the people who used the paths before me. Where they travelling to work, on a mission of historical and political significance, where they courting or hoping to bump into each other.
This led to me researching into the people and events associated with particular places and routes. I’m now using this blog to record the stories I’ve recounted on my tours, walks and Ramblers.
On retiring I’ve used my knowledge of routes, nature and history to lead walks and tours to raise money for good causes. I can be booked to lead walks & tours in Kent. I do not charge but do seek a donation for a good cause. People who book me can suggest a charity they would like to support. If they don’t have a cause I suggest the Royal British Legion for World War 1 tours, or the Air Ambulance for all others. For those who are less adventurous I can be booked to give a virtual tour talk.
Many who have been on one of my walks or tours will be familiar with some of the stories retold on this blog – but not all!
The site will regularly updated with new postings – so either follow this blog, or follow me on facebook.com/geofframbler.
I also post details of my up and coming tours / walks on the above Facebook site.
